I said on a earlier post that there is no Ikea to be found, and that I sort of wish that they were available in the Philippines. I take that back.

There is a store that sells Ikea products in the Philippines. That we accidentally found out through our good friend Bart.

Earlier this week Bart phoned us and told us that she is going furniture hunting and asked us if we wanted to come with her. She is off to hunt for a couch that she has been eyeing for a while now. Bart is quite savvy when it comes to home furnishings and we are always happy to go with her on home furnishing hunts. We always learn something new.  So we readily agreed to go.

This couch is the reason for our trip.

Pretty right? But wait till you get to know how the couch works.

The two/three seater couch transforms into a five seater. Then a bed. Amazeballs.

So off we go and found it easily on Furniture Source.

we went to the furniture source

But we waited for more than 45 mins to be entertained and another 20 or more mins to check color availability and order. Service was slow and could be improved. Bart got the couch in the lightest grey color.

We waited for a long time. Since it is a furniture store with a lot of people it sure is cramped in there.

But it was ok-ish because we got it on sale.

So while waiting Kei and I looked around and saw this shoe cabinet. We thought it is perfect for our home-because it is compact and can fit in the space behind the door. (To hide our shoes and maximize our floor space.)

We got the 3 layer one in brown. Thankfully on sale too.

Even with the cramped space and slow service, we have to admit that their furniture (all Ikea) are perfect for the modern home. – having a large space is a luxury now, so we all need smaller furniture that also “multitask” and save up precious space.

Kei and I also looked at their bookshelves but in the end opted not to buy ready made but get one custom built. *space constraints and preference issues*

So now we all wait for the delivery.

We will sure be back! I had my eye on some lighting fixtures and cabinets they have.

Hopefully we get faster service by then.

*Also, we all kept on saying “eye-kee-ah” but apparently we are all wrong. It is pronounced as “ee-kay-uh.” Just found that out after we brought the items and googled it at home.
