life of a cuddlebit

my random ramblings

grey and yellow

I never thought about it that much but apparently I have been wearing the “grey shirt” daily. Not the same shirt of course but the same color.

All grey, even my bed sheets are grey. *I think I have 3 more grey shirts are in the laundry basket.

Discovered it as I was sort of tidying my perpetually messy closet. Seems like I have outgrown my happy bright colored shirts, thanks to me getting fat.-Not that I am complaining. This is reason enough to get more clothes/shirts.

Hence all the grey shirts. I dig my grey shirts, they are simple, neutral, inconspicuous and as long as the fabric is soft and comfy, I am good. They sort of became my personal work uniform. I do not have to worry about what to put on in the morning and how they look – I just toss on what is in my cabinet. Will just worry about what to wear on the weekends. Saving me time for the daily commute to work.

Also freeing up some precious morning time for my gardening efforts. On that part, the marigolds are in bloom again!

like drops of sunshine!

The flowers look so bright and happy. Summer is here!

a case of the Mondays every day of the week

Getting me up from the bed each morning is a struggle now. I’d rather stay under the covers.

I’m breaking out a lot these days, mostly on my forehead. The biggest is right between my eyerows, making me look like a three eyed alien; It looks hideous! Some of my friends even saw me with the huge ass zits but whatever; I shall stick to my no popping rule. #uglynoworuglyforever

Having the rain falling everyday makes me extremely sluggish. Then again nobody will do my housework for me so, I just went ahead and did indoor gardening (I tried to save what is left of my ice plant) and laundry duties-even if it means that all the wet clothes will be drying indoors making my living area look like it’s on a perpetual garage sale.

A friend of mine also took pity on my potted garden and sent me some golden pothos cuttings and small fittonias to accompany what was left of my ice plant. Much thanks and hopefully I can keep these plants alive.

However this weather makes me have the perfect excuse to drink coffee all day long! So that works for me.

Since I am forced to stay home, the shopaholic in me found a new avenue to window shop. I am now scrolling through Instagram like going on a window shopping stroll. I also try catching them all Pokemons at home while watching some random stuff from YouTube.

How was your week? Keep dry and safe!

under attack

It has been a rain soaked work week for me. While I am ok with the rain, my schedule is not. I am now tardy for the third time in the week and it ain’t pretty, I have somehow managed to rack up more than a couple of hours worth of tardiness. I am sure to get a memo from the office. Despite my best efforts to be early, the traffic always gets me every time. If only I can just curl up on my bed all day.

Seeing this makes me want to crawl back to my bed.

Seeing this scene makes me want to crawl back to my bed.

The constant rain is also unkind to my plants. Most of them are now overwatered.

And just when I thought the pigeons are ok. It was only a false sense of security because they managed to destroy my hanging planters completely.

If I ever catch these two, they are going to be cooked.

The suspects – If I ever catch these two, they are going to be cooked.

They tried to make it as their nest! Arrrggghh! After all those times of tending to my iceplant , succulents and spikemoss it is all bent and broken with some of the plants good as dead-as it was snapped in half. It is so frustrating and I wanted to just shoot the birds- if only I have a pellet gun, which I don’t. It’s just irritating.

my plants look pitiful.

my plants look pitiful – The bald iceplant on the left, the snapped into two succulents in the middle, the bent spikemoss to the right.

I posted my gardening woes on facebook and Matti sent over some articles about shooing away pigeons. So I quickly got bbq sticks staked to the pots to deter them from trying to nest again. This is kind of like bringing the big guns out! Hopefully this time it would do the trick.

Never could have thought that garden pests could be this big (and can fly too).
