the shoe looks familiar…

I love shoes, you know that right? And this time I am looking for heels.

Specifically a nude colored shoe and one in black. Because I can’t wear my Fitflops for prenup.

So, I have been looking at this Figliarina shoe for quite some time. I like it very much.

Feminine and simple/practical to mix and match. But sadly they don’t have it in my size. I have cute size 5 feet.

So, I eventually got these meshed beauties from Charles and Keith.

While I was pleased with my nude shoe, I still need a black one.

Again, I scoured the shoe section of the department stores to no avail. The I saw something familiar…it is the Figliarina shoe again. I still like it. So, again I asked for one in my size. They don’t have size 5. Figures…. but they have size 5 in black! I was like woooh! for real? I want them!

The shoe I liked, in my size, in black.

The shoe I liked, in my size, in black.

So I got the Figliarina in black. With the black color the look they project looks quite different from the beige one. This looks feminine but edgy and sexy at the same time. Just what I need nice.

And another plus! It is on sale! (till the end of March) I got it for 1,199.00php from its original price of 1,999.00php. Woot!

I also found something I am really happy about. I like Kate Middleton’s style. That I sometimes look at  whatkatewore.com to look at her outfits. It is no secret that she likes wearing LK Bennett shoes.

I scored big time!I scored big time!

Well,  something looks familiar! Not really an exact look alike but still,  I believe I really scored big time!
Yes, I am “mababaw” (tagalog term for: shallow) that way.
How is that for shoe therapy?

I may have emotional attachment to shoes

As I reached for the shoebox and pulled out the shoe inside, my heart sank. My favorite party shoe has split apart.

It is a Qupid studded tapue wedge shoe that I had since December of 2009. Yes. It has survived that long.

Worn only when I attend parties and kept in the shoebox right after. I love this shoe! It instantly adds a punch to any of my outfits, and kept me looking taller than I really am. Added bonus, it’s a wedge! I saved up my allowance for this beauty. At that time if I remember correctly I got it for around 3k. Plus a month of waiting for it to be shipped to the Philippines.

I was planning to wear it for another happy occasion. But it was already gone.

Packed my beloved shoe and planned to get it repaired. I still wanted to save it, I want it back!

As I was wandering at the mall, I saw the sale sign at Aldo. Thinking that they usually have pretty shiny accessories there, I sauntered to their accessories. Yes, they are on sale but they don’t have anything to my liking at that time.

I glanced around the store and looked at their shoes. Before me was this stunner.

Found myself trying the shoe. It is on sale. From its original price of almost 4k, it is now down to 2k.

I like the shoe, it fits and it looks good on my feet!

This could work as a party shoe, I thought. Sold. I got the shoes.

Loved my new shoe! Got a nice spot for it on my shoe rack. Then immediately felt sorry for my old shoe. I spent the money on the new one. When I sort of promised my old shoe that it would be restored to life.

Now do I save my old shoe or throw it away?

Ever had an emotional attachment to (your) shoes? Or I’m just plain weird.

The runaway shoe: My wedding shoes

Kei and I found the shoe months ago, at the store window of Steve Madden in Shangri-La all,  it was sometime in the end of February this year if I am not mistaken. We admired it and I tried it on, It looks pretty on the shelf and even more so when worn.  It is almost close to the ten thousand pesos. I was smitten. Kei liked it too. But we didn’t buy it instantly, because we might see something better for a lower price.

And we came to regret that decision after.

This is the beauty we almost lost.

It is a nude/champagne strappy platform sandal embellished with a lot of crystal rhinestones. I loved that it looks fancy for a photo shoot, and also covers the veins in my feet. It has a platform, so it’s stable and comfy to walk with, and the color of the shoe really goes well with my skin tone.

We vowed to get the shoe after two weeks. So, fast forward to two weeks after, we returned to Shangri-La Mall to purchase the said shoe. But to our dismay the shoe has a huge chocolate stain on the back.

I thought they must have a new stock or, we can order another from them… But we were met with a sad NO from the shopkeepers. Apparently Stores Specialists Inc. only gets some items in a limited quantity to be sold in their “elite” stores, there would be no guarantee that they would get the same shoe, or that you can find the same shoe in their other stores. I was aghast. We offered to pay in advance to order a new one. Still the answer is NO.

I was crestfallen. It is time to move on and look for another shoe.

And so we looked. We found pretty shoes from Badgley Mischka from Sm Aura and Rustans, BCBG Max Azaria at Glorietta and Shangri-La , Nine West at Sm Megamall.

fancy shoes

All pretty, on the same price range. But it is not the shoe. My veins on the feet are popping on full display wearing these shoes.

I was planning to find the shoe online and getting it shipped from the US. But it was unfortunately out of stock.

I gave up. I cried about the shoes.

Five months later, we saw the shoe again. This time in Robinson’s Mall Manila! Kei excitedly pointed it out to me and in a daze, we walked toward the store. I hurriedly asked for my size. They have it!

is this real?!

Is this real?! Its the shoe we are looking for!

While I was trying it on and we confirmed that it was indeed the same shoe we seen/wanted before, Kei proceeded to pay for the shoes. We were met with a pleasant surprise! The exact shoes are now on a lower price, from almost 10 to almost 7. It was a huge difference.

In the end we are thankful that we got the shoe and got it for a lower price. We just did not appreciate the time in between seeing the shoe and getting the shoe.

We celebrated by getting a huge bowl of Mongolian rice after.

Thank you very much Kei. ❤

**We conclude that the best place to search for evening/bridal shoes is at Shangri-La Mall as they have a lot of shoe selections.

***As per Chinese tradition the groom to be buys his bride to be the shoes to be used for their wedding. The bride to be then reciprocates the gesture by buying shoes for the mother of the groom to be.
