strange things, strange times

We have been starting to watch Netflix’s Stranger Things. We planned to watch one episode and ended up watching five in one go. safe to say that we are hooked. The last time we sort of marathon watched a series was breaking bad and that series was real good too!

This is why at times I like to watch tv series late. I get to watch uninterrupted without having to wait for the next episode.

In line with the topic of strange, my account was hacked and I think it would take a month or two to recover. There was quite a loss but its real life sh*t happens. This is why I am quiet for the past few days. Thankfully I got the administration to hear me out and help. So that was that. Not really easy and mostly knee shaking but that was that. I just have to be more vigilant.

Since I am on the dumps and a completely stuck at home these days, Kei tried his darn best to cheer me up with chocolates. He got me my fave Ghirardelli to chase away my sadness.

my all time fave chocolate never mind that I cannot pronounce its name correctly.

my all time fave chocolate! *never mind that I cannot pronounce its name correctly.*

On the brighter side, I have been chatting up quite a lot with my US based cousin, Jacky about life in general and about Funko pops – she is also a collector. And together with my other cousin they managed to snag and bring me some of the pops I want! That was so kind of them to send me stuff that could distract me to make this strange and confusing times a bit tolerable and making me feel like me. I am excited to feature them on my Pop Fridays!

In return I am also creating my own “PammyBag” to send my cousin. -Kind of a carefully curated bag of random stuff that I think my cousin would like, as well as some collectibles and a letter for her. As of the moment I have a few stationary stuff and is still waiting for the bulk of the stuff (I ordered) for her to arrive from Japan.

the long awaited retreat

So the retreat still pushed through (in a different venue), even if it is delayed we managed to learn a lot from our speaker Bro. Raymund Sanchez. Our main verse was Matthew 6:33.

He talked to us about the importance of placing God first, and even gave us a shining example in the person of Mr Samuel Truett Cathy of the Chick-fil-A fame.

If you have the time, read Samuel Truett Cathy’s story. It is very inspiring.

I’m very thankful for the opportunity to attend a camp. I learned a new perspective in life, made new friends and get to know some of my friends better. Also, a refreshing break from city life.

We only stayed overnight at Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay. A nice cozy place that also has a mini farm with cute animals!

I kept on going back to look at the owl. Also marveling at how amazing God’s creations are.

The Hotel also sells their plants. So before going back to Manila, I brought two plants.

A mint plant and a bird eye chili/cayenne plant (locally known as siling labuyo). I plan to grow them for future use. A potted herb garden is also something want to have so, I have to start somewhere.

The mint was brought for 60php as a replacement for my chocolate mint plant given to me by my sister that was destroyed by the last typhoon. Hopefully this would grow big enough to supply mint leaves for our tea. On the other hand I have the chili that we got for 150php a bit pricier, but it already has tiny green chilies. A bit of time they would turn red and will be ready to harvest.

I plan to use it for creating the ubiquitous soysauce-chili dimsum dip.
