in case of a fallout

The game that I had been playing for a long time now got reset.

My Fallout shelter vault got lost after an upgrade. Boohoo. Clearly, I was upset. All the time I spent on maintaining my vault and poof.

I uninstalled the game and went on to find another game. Spotted some of my friends playing Plants vs zombies 2.

Decided to give it a try. I was glad that I did. Enjoyed it as much as the first plants vs zombies game. Though I find this a wee bit frustrating than the first since this one switches themes.

Kei even decided to download and play the game too! Now we sort of bond by sharing tips on how to get through a level. =)

Any nice android games that you would recommend?

late but still ok

We just watched Beauty and the Beast yesterday. Late I know, but we got the movie house to ourselves so it ain’t that bad.

Beauty and the Beast -photo from the internet

Emma Watson looked so pretty as Belle, as well as the remake of Belle’s yellow gown! Luke Evans also did a great job playing Gaston. To quote my bestfriend Jo:”If movies are cheap, I would watch it over and over again”. -I would definitely do that too!

I still have last song syndrome from the movie. No, actually make that from all the familiar Disney songs of my childhood. I sing along to them! Back to the movie, I liked how they made it as close to the cartoon that I watched countless of times in the TV and in my ViewMaster.

Lighted View Master just like mine. The only reels I have was Beauty and the Beast and Flintstones.

I swap ViewMaster reels with my friends.- That way we all get to watch different stories without having to buy a lot of reels. So retro.

And In the topic of being late and retro… Riverdale is delayed!!! But again its ok. Because the series is renewed by CW for season 2! So relieved! Archie Comics in a show. My favorite new show this season.

I am still waiting for the next episode of Riverdale! Excited much?!

adding a few not so DIY stuff to the home

Behind the couch table.

Have you ever heard of that? Thanks to Pinterest, I have. And I wanted one so that I can get a “display” table and some much needed extra space/storage for books. It looks so pretty and it is a great alternative to those without a lot of floor space to have a coffee table in the middle of the sofa set.

the ones I have been eyeing at Pinterest

Since then I have pestered Kei to draw a “plan” for the said table. Sure this will not be a DIY-since we dont have the woodworking skills and tools, but I wanted to get a close to accurate shop drawing with measurements so that it would be easier for the one making the table. Less margin for error.

Also wanted the table to have electrical outlets on both ends so we can charge phones, place a lamp…etc.

Kei’s initial drawing of our behind the couch table -We went on to modify the drawer part.

Once we have the drawing it is off to the furniture shop. It took about three weeks before it arrived, right before Christmas. It was huge.

Freshly delivered -we still have to find faceplate for the outlet. Our little tree fits right on the side!

Then the holidays came and we got busy and forgot about “decorating” the table, until now. We sorted out our books, bought some basic bookends and placed them on the table. We also moved our ceramic bunnies from the dining table to this ‘behind the couch’ table. They now guard our books. Freeing up much needed space in the dining table.

a pair at last-our ceramic bunnies

Next would be looking for lamps to be the accent piece. Just last weekend, we found it.

Minimalist arc table lamps with edison bulbs.

Looking good on and off! So after a long while, the living room is looking a bit more homey/cozy.

our sofa as of the moment

We can still fit some decorative items in! -a few picture frames on the table would be good & maybe something huge for the wall would be nice in the future.

Any suggestions for wall decor? That is all about our small home improvement for now. Till the next.

grey and yellow

I never thought about it that much but apparently I have been wearing the “grey shirt” daily. Not the same shirt of course but the same color.

All grey, even my bed sheets are grey. *I think I have 3 more grey shirts are in the laundry basket.

Discovered it as I was sort of tidying my perpetually messy closet. Seems like I have outgrown my happy bright colored shirts, thanks to me getting fat.-Not that I am complaining. This is reason enough to get more clothes/shirts.

Hence all the grey shirts. I dig my grey shirts, they are simple, neutral, inconspicuous and as long as the fabric is soft and comfy, I am good. They sort of became my personal work uniform. I do not have to worry about what to put on in the morning and how they look – I just toss on what is in my cabinet. Will just worry about what to wear on the weekends. Saving me time for the daily commute to work.

Also freeing up some precious morning time for my gardening efforts. On that part, the marigolds are in bloom again!

like drops of sunshine!

The flowers look so bright and happy. Summer is here!
